Shem is a San Francisco based creative with a serious case of wanderlust. Her colorful, well-traveled feed inspires the thousands that follow her adventures.
We were so excited to see how they spent their time this summer at MB1, while celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary – after dating for 13 years!
MB1 is the perfect, romantic getaway for milestones like Shem & Shahzeb’s!
Check out their itinerary and favorites below to live the Maui Beachside life like a professional travel blogger.
Shem & Shahzeb’s Maui Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive, food-to-go, and check in to MB1
After arriving on Maui they picked up a quick dinner from Poi by the Pound, a casual Hawaiian fare restaurant near the airport. They then headed to Kihei to check into MB1 and unwind.
Day 2: Driving & Exploring Along the Road to Hana
As the Road to Hana has some of the most stunning views and vendors, they stopped frequently for fresh fruits, juices, snacks, and all of the sights! Some of those stops included:
- The Ke’anae Peninsula
- Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread
- Hiking to the Upper Waikani Falls to swim and cool off “Three Bears Falls”
- Coconut Glen’s for vegan coconut ice cream
- Wai’napanapa State Park – Honokalani Black Sand Beach
- Kaihalulu Red Sand Beach

Day 3: Sunrise, Wailea Beach & Good Eats
Shem and Shahzeb started their day early, catching the sunrise at Mt. Haleakala. Afterward, they grabbed a coffee at Akamai Coffee and enjoyed a Banana Macadamia Nut Pancake breakfast at Kihei Caffe before a day in the sun at Wailea Beach.
They ducked out of the sun for a bit to grab lunch at a local favorite, Mama’s Fish House, and later headed back to MB1 for a dip in the pool.
The couple ate dinner at the popular Coconut’s Fish Cafe before attending the Kihei Fourth Fridays event. The Maui Friday Town Party features crafts, food trucks, music, and entertainment. It is a family-friendly event! For more family-friendly activities check out Maui With Kids.
Day 4: Scuba Diving & Sunset
Ready for some adventure, Shem and Shahzeb headed out for scuba diving at Lanai Cathedrals with Extended Horizons. They had great visibility and enjoyed spotting a white tip reef shark and the critically endangered hawksbill sea turtle.
After their deep dive, they stopped into Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade for acai bowls and cold brew coffee. Try the freshly made pina colada lemonade!
Since it was an active morning, they enjoyed some R&R back at MB1, followed by Huli Huli Chicken at Maui Rotisserie, and a sweet finish at Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice (Shem’s favorite: Blue Hawaiian flavor topped with hapui vegan coconut cream & shredded coconut)!
They caught the sunset on the beach near MB1 before dining out at Monkeypod for dinner. Order: poke tacos, Chef’s Special Catch of the Day, award-winning Mai Tai & One In A Melon gin cocktail, chocolate cream pie.
Day 5: Depart
On their final morning, they popped back into Kihei Caffe for brunch (having loved it so much the first time!).
Before leaving, they enjoyed some leisurely pool time at MB1, picked up Hawaiian chocolates & coffee as souvenirs to take home, and grabbed one last poke meal at Tamura’s Fine Wine & Liquors.
Then it was time to depart for the airport and head home with lots of memories and a full camera roll!

Where They Stayed:
Here’s what else they had to say about MB1:
“There was something so special about falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to breathtaking oceanfront views at Maui Beachside. Stacey provided exceptional hospitality from the moment we booked our stay all the way until our departure, and her attention to detail is present throughout the home. It really felt like our home away from home in Maui! We loved having easy access to a heated pool and an amazingly clean, soft sand beach. The Instagrammable decor, fully equipped kitchen and incredible view were the icing on top. Stacey’s helpful tips and recommendations made our trip one we’ll never forget. I honestly just wanted to move in forever, and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on a return trip to Maui.”
